Break the bias to help girls into education and opportunity

How do we break down the barriers that girls and women face every day? That was the theme of a special Theirworld Instagram Live event on International Women’s Day.

Hosted by author and journalist Lorraine Candy, it featured the powerful voices of Theirworld Chair Sarah Brown, Education Cannot Wait Director Yasmine Sherif and Kashvi Chandok, a Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld. They discussed the gender obstacles that girls face in accessing education - challenges only made worse by the pandemic and the Ukraine crisis. Passionate arguments were made for urgent action, bold leadership and the need to teach boys about gender equality from a very early age.

Read, listen and be inspired

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, we asked our network of Global Youth Ambassadors and our Chair, Sarah Brown, to recommend empowering books and podcasts that inspire them to #BreakTheBias.
